PCA 2023: C.L.E. Cigar Company

Without a doubt, one of the more intriguing booths at the 2023 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show was C.L.E. Cigar Company. In the past, when going to the C.L.E. booth, one could look forward to new releases featuring Authentic Corojo under C.L.E. and Eiroa and large ring gauge offerings from Asylum. But 2023 was very different. This year we saw a trio of PCA Exclusive Cigars highlighted by tobacco from C.L.E.'s "South American" farm and some new Asylum "aromatic lines using exotic tobacco." This made for one of the more interesting booths at the PCA Trade Show.

PCA 2023: Crowned Heads (Audio)

Each year at the Premium Cigar Association Trade Show, our team tries to identify a theme going on with a company or their booth. This year at Crowned Heads, there were three things: 1) There was quite a lot of new product for Crowned Heads in 2023; 2) The company is solidifying its position with Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and Eradio Pichardo; and 3) Crowned Heads is making a major move pushing into the ultra-premium space.

Steve is the former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers and current defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers. He also is a big cigar enthusiast – and we’ll explore Steve’s journey. This is one show you won’t want to miss.

PCA 2023: Arturo Fuente (Audio)

It’s always a special experience going to the Arturo Fuente booth at the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show. I’ve said in the past, the Fuente booth is less about showcasing new products, but more about telling the history and story of the Fuente family. The booth is always beautifully laid out – and in a lot of ways has the look of Macy’s Department Store at Christmas Time (minus the Christmas season). This year, there were several highly anticipated projects that Fuente was showcasing – making this an absolute “must see” booth at the Trade Show.

PCA 2023: United Cigars (Audio)

United Cigars came into the 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show with two brand expansions. In a world where the "one and done" limiteds are quite popular, it was nice to see United Cigars focus on two of its brands which will have ongoing regular production releases. One thing United Cigars has done quite well with the cigars it produces and distributes is to provide something for every cigar enthusiast. This year, the brand expansions hit both ends of the spectrum - this includes adding four new sizes to its ultra-premium Red Anchor brand and a new regular production offering to its Firecracker brand with the Black Bomb Firecracker.  Both of these brand expansions continue to strengthen United Cigars as an attractive portfolio for many retailers to bring in.

PCA 2023: Gran Habano (Audio)

Last year, Gran Habano Cigars would release its long awaited 20th Aniversario to celebrate the company's 20th anniversary. One year later, owner George Rico has show no signs of slowing down as there were several projects the company has on tap over the next year.
