On Episode 243, we welcome honored to welcome one of the true icons of the cigar industry, Tim Ozgener.

Tim’s family founded the legendary CAO brand and it changed the cigar industry as we know it. Tim stepped away from the business 12 years ago, but this year he has come back – with an all new company Ozgener Family Cigars and is a partner with Crowned Heads. Tonight we will discuss Tim’s journey in the cigar business, some of great stories, and talk about doing it all over again.

Nick Syris from the Cohiba 55th Anniversary Celebration

Our Cuba/Habanos Contributor Nick Syris attended the Cohiba 55th Anniversary Celebration in Havana Cuba the week of September 6th. Nick participated in a media briefing with Leopoldo Cintra González, Commercial Vice-President, and José María López Inchaurbe.

In this interview, Nick asks about the controversial price increases that took place, supply chain, and quality control. In addition the launch of the Cohiba 55 Aniversario is covered, and Mr Cintra and Mr Lopez provide some insights on Habanos' new global launch program.

Freud Cigar Company was founded in 2022 by Luis Torres and David Stadnyk as a subsidiary of Agape Lifestyle Inc.  Their first cigar release is called the Superego which is named after Sigmund Freud's theory of the superego which is the ethical component of a person's ego and provides moral standards which strives for moral perfections. The Superego is being produced by Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic in 4 sizes.  For this review, we will be taking a look at the lonsdale size.
