Prime Time Episode 236: Jared Michaeli, Favilli Cigars

One Episode 236 of the Prime Time Show, we welcome Jared Michaeli, President of Favilli Cigars.

Favilli Cigars has been undergoing a lot of changes and tonight Jared will talk to us about what these changes are and what this will mean cigar enthusiasts. We will also have our Alec Bradley Live True, Cattle Baron Steak Question, Sopranos, and Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Deliberation segments.

PCA 2022 Report: PDR Cigars (Audio)

Over the past few years, PDR Cigars has been rebranding, restructuring, and rebounding many of its cigars. The branding has been incorporating more in the way of vibrant colors on the boxes and bands. At the same time, owner Abe Flores has been incorporating more in the way of Dominican-grown tobaccos into his blends. Much of this stems from the fact, he had recently become a ProCigar member and wants to support the tobacco business out of the Dominican Republic. It also has allowed him to get more consistent tobacco in terms of what he is buying. This year, the rebrand continued with the rebranding of the Connecticut River Valley line. In addition, he had one surprise line he was keeping under wraps at the show.

PCA 2022 Report: Kristoff Cigars (Audio)

For as long as I have been coming to the Premium Cigar Association (and its predecessor IPCPR Trade Show), Kristoff Cigars has been a staple at the Trade Show. Some years are busier years than others in terms of new product, but each and every year Kristoff is one of the booths I look forward to visiting. 2022 was a year where it certainly was one of the busier ones - in terms of both traffic (hey, we photobombed our friends at HBTC in the booth shot) and new products. This year the new products had both a personal and business touch. There was a new regular production line, a PCA Exclusive line, and a line extension. At the same time, all three of these lines continue to showcase that Kristoff is very healthy when it comes to delivering innovative products.

It was Dissident Cigars 3.0 at the 2022 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show where Joshua and Cynn Coburn exhibited as the new owners of Dissident. The Coburns acquired the brand from Benjamin Holt back in 2022, after he had resurrected the brand in 2019. Dissident Cigars are still made at Fabrica Oveja Negra and are distributed by Oveja Negra Brands. As a result Dissident still was a part of the Oveja Negra family at the 2022 PCA Trade. On top of that, they had a new product that was being showcased. Most importantly, Bear Duplisea of El Oso Fumar awarded Dissident Cigars his #1 Cigar of the Year for the Dissident Rave.

From day one, JRE Tobacco Co has been a vertically integrated operation, and the company has showcased this as a differentiator. This includes its farming, factory, and distribution activities. 2022 was no exception when it came to showcasing these capabilities. This year the company showcased a new line and three line extensions.

Prime Time Special Edition 124 Audio: Omar de Frias, Fratello Cigars

Tonight Special Edition is back from PCA, and tonight we are proud to welcome our special guest, Omar de Frias. Omar came into the Trade Show with an unusual project known as the ViceVersa – a cigar that could be smoked from both ends. We will dive into this project and catch up on all things Fratello.
