The Smoking Syndicate: Punch The People’s Champ (Audio)
Wednesday Jun 29, 2022
Wednesday Jun 29, 2022
Punch unveiled a new cigar last month called The People’s Champ. This cigar was a collaboration with the Punch Brotherhood, an online Punch enthusiast group, and the Punch team. It took 3 years to get the cigar right after debating on the size, profile, and packaging.
Punch brand manager John Hakim said, “We asked. They told. We crafted. This is the best way to describe how The People’s Champ cigar was created. While some may say we spent a lot of time on such a limited run of cigars, we beg to differ. We learned so much from Punch’s most devoted fans, and those insights will be incredibly valuable in guiding us on future releases.”
- Size: 5 x 50
- Vitola: Robusto
- Wrapper: Honduran Habano
- Binder: Mexican San Andres
- Filler: Dominican, Nicaraguan, Brazilian
- Country of Origin: Honduras
- Factory: Honduran American Tobacco S.A.
- MSRP: $6.49
Final Score: 88

The Smoking Syndicate: Aganorsa Leaf Guardian of the Farm Cerberus Lonsdale (Audio)
Saturday Jun 25, 2022
Saturday Jun 25, 2022
Aganorsa released their latest edition to the Guardian of the Farm series late last year named Cerberus. Cerberus is the mythical Greek three-headed dog that guards the gates of hell or the underworld…unless you’re an IT person like me, then is something completely different. The Cerberus is a lonsdale size coming in a 6 x 44, which is one of my favorite sizes. It uses a unique Corojo 2012 wrapper that hasn’t been used before. Terence Reilly, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, talked about it in the press release sent to us.
“Corojo 2012 is going to add another level of complexity to Aganorsa Leaf’s signature flavor and aroma,” stated Terence Reilly, Vice President of Sales & Marketing in a press release. “We wanted to utilize it first on the Cerberus because Guardian of the Farm is most popular with cigar enthusiasts who appreciate the nuances and characteristics of new tobaccos. We think they will be very pleased with the Cerberus.”
Let’s look at the specs.
- Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo 2012 (Aganorsa-grown)
- Binder: Nicaraguan (Aganorsa-grown)
- Filler: Nicaraguan (Aganorsa-grown)
- Vitola: Lonsdale
- Size: 6 x 44
- Country of Origin: Nicaragua
- Factory: Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (TABSA)
Final Score: 84
