The Smoking Syndicate: Dapper Cigars La Madrina Shade Robusto (Audio)
Wednesday Jun 08, 2022
Wednesday Jun 08, 2022
Dapper Cigars created the La Madrina a few years ago and it has slowly become the best selling cigar for the company worldwide. Dapper decided to take the La Madrina and make a milder, more subtle, line to compliment it. They introduced the La Madrina Shade last year, a tweaked La Madrina blend with an Ecuadorian shade-grown Connecticut wrapper. I’m a big fan of Connecticut wrapper cigars, as long as they have some body to the cigar and are flavorful. I don’t miss the days of our grandfather’s Connecticut shade cigars that were very mild, with little flavor. The Dapper Cigars website is an excellent source of information about their cigar as they list their cigar blends in detail rarely seen in the cigar industry. You can check out my review of the La Madrina toro here along with Coop’s review of the La Madrina in the robusto size here.
- Vitola: Robusto
- Size: 5 x 50
- Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut desflorado, CASJUCA, A.S.P. (Perez)
- Binder: Undisclosed
- Filler: Nicaraguan (Esteli, Guadalupe, and Jalapa, Cofradía Relleno both from Oliva Tobacco Co.), Habano ’92 from the Dominican Republic, and an undisclosed US tobacco
- MSPR: $11.06
Final Score: 90
